Position Overview: As a Front of House Team Member, you will be an essential part of our customer service team, responsible for creating a positive and memorable experience for our guests. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations in the dining area, handling guest interactions, and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:Greet and welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor.
Provide detailed information about the menu, including specials and recommendations.
Address guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with professionalism and courtesy.

Order Management:Efficiently take and process customer orders using our POS system.
Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
Monitor and manage table turnover to optimize the guest experience.

Dining Area Maintenance:Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including table setup, clearing, and resetting.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and uphold high cleanliness standards.

Team Collaboration:Work closely with colleagues to create a cohesive and efficient Front of House team.
Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to facilitate smooth operations.

Opening and Closing Procedures:Assist in opening and closing duties, including cash handling and reconciliation.
Contribute to maintaining an organized and well-prepared environment for daily operations.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a customer service or Front of House role is preferred.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.

Basic math skills for order processing and transaction handling.

Team-oriented with a positive and proactive attitude.

Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

At any given time, you might be:

  • Developing and coaching teams through ad-hoc and structured performance reviews
  • Budgeting and planning staffing and stock levels for the restaurant
  • Reducing food waste and variances
  • Leading from the front by driving high standards and productivity
  • Training teams on service quality and food standards
  • Recruiting, onboarding and training new team members

Assistant Cook

Chelsea, London

Finns of Chelsea is a long-established gourmet food shop and catering business, based on the lively and foodie Chelsea Green. We are seeking a passionate and personable Cook to join our small but busy delicatessen kitchen; the role combines daily cooking for the shop with occasional event canapés, picnics and parties.

The ideal candidate must have a professional cooking qualification and ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a commercial kitchen and/or fast paced catering environment. You must be a quick-learner, hard-worker and flexible to complement our existing team. The main ingredient we are looking for is a keen Cook who is interested in seasonal food, who is naturally organised and has a friendly, confident, and professional disposition. There is plenty of scope to make the role your own, and the freedom to bring fresh ideas to the table.

Whilst predominantly in the kitchen, you will also be expected to spend time serving in the shop forming relationships with customers; learning the tills as well as how to make a famous Finns coffee; answering the telephone; taking orders and meeting and helping clients plan their parties.

  • Full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday (7.30 am – 4.30 pm).
  • One Saturday per month, 8.00 am – 4.00 pm.
  • Salary from £30,000 gross per annum (dependent on experience).
  • Benefits include lovely daytime hours; daily lunch and coffee; external evening and weekend events paid in addition; pension scheme enrolment and 25 days paid annual leave.
