Job Description: Krewe 2.0 is looking for a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef to lead our dessert and pastry program. As the Pastry Chef, you will play a pivotal role in creating and executing a delightful and diverse selection of desserts and pastries that complement our unique and vibrant menu. You will be responsible for crafting beautiful and delicious creations, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Menu Development: Collaborate with the executive chef to create a dessert menu that complements the restaurant’s culinary style and seasonal ingredients.

Recipe Development: Develop and refine recipes for a variety of desserts and pastries, ensuring they are creative, unique, and aligned with the restaurant’s concept.

Production: Oversee the daily production of all pastry items, maintaining consistency and quality while managing inventory and minimizing waste.

Baking and Pastry Skills: Exhibit excellent skills in baking, plating, and decorating various pastries, cakes, bread, and other confections.

Presentation: Ensure that all pastries and desserts are visually appealing and meet the restaurant’s high standards for presentation.

Team Leadership: Supervise and train pastry staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment while ensuring that food safety and sanitation standards are met.

Quality Control: Maintain strict quality control standards, ensuring that all pastries are consistent in taste and appearance.

Budget Management: Manage and control the pastry department’s budget, including cost control, ordering, and inventory management.

Creativity: Continuously explore new trends, ingredients, and techniques in pastry and dessert preparation to keep the menu fresh and exciting.

Adherence to Health and Safety Regulations: Ensure that all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed in the pastry department.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a reputable restaurant or bakery.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not mandatory.
